Young at Heart ~ January Gathering
Join us for a special time of fellowship and fun! Our Young at Heart gathering for adults 55+ takes place on the second Thursday of each month at 11:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall.
We'll enjoy a devotion, a program, birthday celebrations, and a delicious meal, followed by a lively game of Bingo!

CPR and First Aid Training

GriefShare Gathering
Join us for a 13-week GriefShare support group, a caring and safe place where you can find help and healing after the loss of a loved one. Each session includes video teaching, group discussion, and a workbook to help guide you through your grief journey. You don’t have to go through it alone—this group is here to support you every step of the way. The workbook costs $20, and scholarships are available if needed. Storytime with Santa
Join us for a magical Storytime with Santa, where children of all ages and their families can experience the joy of the holiday season. Pose for pictures, get creative at our craft stations, enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate and gather around as Santa himself reads beloved Christmas tales. We look forward to seeing you at the Marvin United Methodist Church’s gym, December 14 from 10am-1pm for this heartwarming event.

We invite you to join us in celebrating the birth of our Savior on December 12, 2024. The program will feature special music by The Garden City Chorus, a delightful barber shop group singing holiday favorites.
Our scrumptious meal includes ham, pineapple casserole, macaroni and cheese, butter beans, roasted vegetables, delicious dessert, and beverages.
Following the meal, everyone is welcome to join in a fun game of bingo! The event costs $10, and if you require financial assistance, please reach out to Cindy Vinson.

A Weekend to Serve

Individuals and families are invited to “Live Generously” during A Weekend to Serve, December 7-8, 2024, participating in one or more opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus and bring God’s grace to those looking for hope.
Saturday opportunities are:
Serve lunch at The Master’s Table, 702 Fenwick St., Augusta, 10:30am-12:30pm (minimum age 13)
Serve lunch at The Byllesby Center, 1904 Greene St., Augusta, 10:30am-12:30pm
Make stage scenes for The Dream Academy’s Christmas play, at Lewis, 9:30am-12:00pm
Support a Christmas party at The Byllesby Center, Augusta, 12:30-2:00pm
Ride on Safe Homes’ float in Augusta’s Christmas Parade, 1:00-4:00pm
On Sunday, you can serve donations at Compass For Hope, James Brown Arena parking lot, Augusta, 10:30am-12:15pm.
A light breakfast will be served in the Lewis Memorial UMC Fellowship Hall on Saturday morning at 9:00am. Also, childcare will be provided if needed. Please indicate your preferences when registering.
An Evening to Give Thanks
We are excited to invite you to a special evening of fellowship and worship at Lewis Memorial UMC, with Marvin UMC joining! Starting with dinner at 5:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall, followed by a worship service in the Sanctuary led by Neil Brooks at 6:30 PM.
The menu is being prepared in collaboration with Marvin UMC. Our church will provide turkey and stuffing and members from both churches will supply the side dishes. Stay tuned for more details and volunteer opportunities.
Before dinner, we will collect canned goods for Columbia County Cares, and the worship offering will support Master's Table, a local organization that feeds those in need. We hope to see you there for this meaningful time together!
Rise Against Hunger ~ Mission Event
Rise Against Hunger, an international humanitarian organization, provides immediate nourishment for those facing hunger today in 37 countries and implements sustainable solutions that will lift entire communities for years to come. And “it starts with a meal.”
You, your family, and your friends are invited to an early evening Meal Packaging event at Lewis to assemble 10,000 meal kits for shipment. We’ll start the evening with pizza in the fellowship hall. Childcare services will be available after dinner with reservations.

Our next training will be Sunday, November 3, from 11:15 am -12:00 pm in Room 403. Please register on Realm. A background check is required for the class with an $18 fee.

Men's Ministry Breakfast and Bible Study
We invite all men to join us for a time of fellowship, food, and faith at our Men's Breakfast and Bible Study. This is a great opportunity to connect with one another, share stories, and grow deeper in your walk with Christ. Whether you're looking for spiritual encouragement, meaningful conversation, or simply a good meal, this gathering is for you. The first YAH (age 55 and over) gathering will be on September 12 at 11 am in the Fellowship Hall. We will be celebrating 45 years of ministry. Cost is $10 per person. Menu: Catered by Dye's: Fried Fish or Chicken, Hush Puppies, French Fries, Cole Slaw, Beverage, and dessert. Register below by September 8th.
Disciples for Life Online Bible Study
Disciples for Life online study will begin the fall study on Monday, September 9.
It will be based on Max Lucado’s Life Lessons from 1, 2 & 3 John & Jude-Living and Loving by Truth.
It is not necessary to have the book to participate, but you may miss some of Lucado’s beautiful writing. If you want a copy, it is available on Amazon, and other booksellers.
All you need is a login to Realm and to let me know you would like to join the group if you are not already in it.

Pot-Luck Luncehon and Blood Drive
Following worship on Aug 18th we will have a pot-luck luncheon. Meat will be provided by the church. Families are asked to bring a dish to share with others. To help with planning, please sign up before/after worship or online. Consider bringing your favorite summer side dish (baked beans, mac & cheese, etc.), salad (potato salad, pasta salad, cole slaw, tossed salad, veggies, etc.) or a dessert. The luncheon is in conjunction with a Shepeard community blood drive, so take time to eat and donate.

Nichols Ecuador Mission Fundraising Dinner
Join us for a Spaghetti Dinner to support the Mission of Sharon and Graham Nichols in Ecuador. Sharon’s famous cobblers will be available too! There is no set cost, but donations will be accepted. please register here by August 9th so Sharon knows how much food to prepare.
Back to School Sunday
Join us for a special day of worship on Sunday, August 4th, as we celebrate the return to school! Children and youth bring your backpacks to be blessed during worship. All are invited to enjoy a sweet treat from the Blue Skies Ice Cream trailer following worship.
GreenJackets Baseball Night
We have reserved the Lawn Ace Lounge for the 6:30 pm game on August 3. The cost is $32 per person and includes your ticket as well as a 90-minute all-you-can-eat buffet. Lewiston Elementary School Supply Drive
You’re invited to support the students and faculty of Lewiston Elementary School with a Back-to-School supply drive from July 28-August 11. Simply place your donation in the designated box found at the church entrance on Sunday, July 28 through August 11, or drop off your items at the office throughout the week. A list of requested items can be found in the narthex or by clicking on this event.

Sundae Game Night
Families and persons of all ages are invited to a night of ice cream and fun! We will make ice cream sundaes, fellowship with others, and compete in an Escape Room-based game around Jesus’ parables. Bibles will be available for the game, but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
Nursery will be available for ages 0-4 during the game portion.
Registrations are not required but help us with planning.
